This group contains a Virginia land warrant issued to Edward Herndon in 1780 and an 1851 letter written by Joseph F. Herndon of Cows Creek, Saline Co., Missouri, to his brothers, G.R. and S.G. Herndon of Carthage, Kentucky. The letter concerns Joseph's dissatisfaction over the probate of their father's will and his treatment by the rest of the family at the time of his father's death.
